Join us for a fun-filled afternoon at the library where you’ll discover the world of zines and create your own!
A zine (pronounced zeen) is a small self-published book or mini magazine that can be about anything you love- poetry, art, music, books, gaming, fashion, your favourite fandom, latest obsession or anything in between. A zine is a fun way to express yourself and share your ideas. They’re free to make, and fun to swap and collect too. Once you start zine-ing, it’s hard to stop!
In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn about the culture and history behind this art form and the basics of zine making, including simple folding techniques, layout and creative design. Then you’ll create your own zine on a topic that matters to you.
All materials are provided, and at the end of the session you'll have the chance to photocopy your zine to take home and share, swap or distribute. No experience needed- just bring your ideas and your imagination!
