Event Description

Through guided writing exercises, participants will explore new ways of accessing creative flow and will explore poetic tools such as imagery, specificity and line breaks and how to use them to add meaning to their poetry.

During the session, participants will be invited to consider existing poetry for meaning and share their own poems for feedback and will learn techniques to edit their work.

You will learn:

- How to access the creative flow through writing exercises

- How to draw inspiration from memory, place and personal experience

- How to use imagery and sensory language to enrich a poem

- How line breaks influence meaning and introduce movement

- How to transform raw writing into a crafted poem through revision
