Event Description

Got a personal story you want to tell but you’re afraid to write about your friends and/or family members in the process? Learn how to navigate writing the truth about your life for essays, memoir or creative non-fiction; and gain confidence in navigating the tricky ethics of writing your truth when it involves the people who are closest to you.

You will learn:

•        How to generate ideas/pages for your memoir

•        How to approach the subjective nature of memory and storytelling

•        How to mine the emotional truth of an event or story in non-fiction writing

•        How to approach ethical considerations when writing about those in your orbit

•        How to amalgamate characters and identities in non-fiction
